Why do HR professionals need English?

HR teams use English as soon as the company hires abroad, welcomes international employees, or works with a head office or subsidiaries in other countries. A recruiter who struggles in English can lose a strong candidate.

General English is not enough. You need to present a role, ask the right questions in an interview, explain a contract and a salary package, and give clear feedback in a performance review.

The hardest part is explaining your local employment rules. Probation periods, notice periods, paid leave, and employee representation work differently from one country to another, and people need a clear explanation in English.

Who is the course for?

Classes start from the situations you handle in English at work.

Recruiters and talent acquisition

Write job postings, run interviews, and talk with candidates abroad.

HR managers and business partners

Advise managers, present HR policies, and lead meetings in English.

Payroll and HR administration

Explain a pay stub, a contract, or leave policies to international employees.

Learning and development

Plan training programs and work with trainers and international sites.

English for HR course program

Your teacher builds the classes around your tasks. Each topic is practiced in speaking and in writing (emails, job postings, meeting notes).

  1. Recruitment

Write a job description and a job posting, and read a résumé and cover letter in English.

  2. Job interview

Welcome candidates, ask open and closed questions, follow up, and close the interview.

  3. Contract and pay

Present an offer, a salary, benefits, and the probation period.

  4. Onboarding

Welcome a new hire and present the team, tools, and internal rules.

  5. Performance review

Set goals, give constructive feedback, and talk about career development.

  6. Internal communication

Announce a change, answer employee questions, and write an internal memo.

The program adapts to your role and your industry. You can bring your HR documents, with personal data removed, to work on real cases.

Role play

Sample HR English class

Each class prepares a real situation from your week. You speak most of the time, and your teacher corrects what matters most to the people you talk to.

  • Opening an interview

“Could you walk me through your résumé?”

  • Asking a situational question

“What would you do if a team member missed a deadline?”

  • Explaining next steps

“We’ll get back to you by the end of next week.”

  • Giving feedback

“You’ve done great work this year. One area to work on is delegation.”

Sample 45-minute class

10 min · Your next interview

You tell your teacher about the role and the profile you are looking for.

20 min · Role play

You run the interview. Your teacher plays the candidate, with answers you don’t expect.

15 min · Feedback

You go over your mistakes and leave with the key questions for the day of the interview.

How does the course work?

I've had a wonderful experience learning English at this school! The program is well-structured, engaging, and truly helps you improve naturally and confidently. All the teachers are highly professional and supportive, always creating a welcoming and motivating atmosphere. I want to give special thanks to Gabu Ithier – she is an outstanding teacher! Her energy, patience, and ability to explain even the most complex things in a clear and fun way made every class a joy. I’m incredibly grateful for the progress I’ve made with her help. Thank you to the entire team – I’m so glad I chose this school!

How much does an English course for HR professionals cost?

One-to-one classes start at €14.38 per class, with no long-term commitment. Your first 30-minute class is free.

What level of English do I need?

There is no minimum level. Your teacher assesses your level during the trial class, on the CEFR scale (A1 to C2), and builds the program from there.

How long until I can run a job interview in English?

It depends on your starting level and how many classes you take each week. In the trial class, your teacher suggests a plan with concrete goals, such as interviewing an English-speaking candidate.

Yes. You can bring your job descriptions, job postings, or emails, with personal data removed, to practice on real cases.

Will the course help me assess a candidate’s English level?

Yes. Your teacher explains the CEFR scale and TOEIC scores, which range from 10 to 990, so you can read a résumé and check a level during an interview. Break Into English is accredited by ETS for the TOEIC.
