All our online English courses are taught by native English speakers who have been internally trained to apply the Break Into English method.
Personalised lessons are delivered online and you can choose the video conferencing platform that suits you best: Zoom, Google Meet, Teams, etc.

30 minutes to assess your level, talk about your job and the people you work with, and try our method. No commitment and no credit card.
The Break Into English course for accountants is taught one-to-one over video, with a native teacher you keep from start to finish. It starts from your job and your real situations: a reporting pack due at a US parent company, a UK subsidiary to consolidate, a client asking why an invoice changed.
In accounting, English is both written and spoken: reading financial statements prepared under IFRS or US GAAP, writing a clear email to a supplier, and explaining a treatment during an audit. You need the exact term, not an approximation.
That is why the classes start from your own documents and figures: you do most of the talking and your teacher corrects what matters in your job. To review the basics, read our guide to accounting vocabulary in English.
Classes follow a dynamic method focused on speaking and listening. Your teacher combines several activities based on your goal and, if useful, uses our General English and Business English textbooks.
You prepare a presentation of a close, a reporting pack, or your team and present it to your teacher.
You summarize a short audio clip, then summarize it again using the new vocabulary, and get used to different accents.
You comment on a chart or a table, then comment on it again using 3 to 7 new words.
Grammar is practiced out loud, based on your own mistakes, with no fill-in-the-blank drills.
Sample 45-minute class
You comment on the monthly figures as you would for the group controller.
You work on comprehension and vocabulary with an audio clip.
You answer questions from an auditor played by your teacher, then go over your mistakes.
Course length depends on your starting level and your goal. To make fast progress, we recommend at least 2 hours of class per week, with a little practice between classes.
Classes last 30, 45, or 60 minutes and are booked in packs of 5 to 40 sessions.
Classes run 7 days a week and can be canceled for free up to 6 hours before, so you can slow down during close or tax season and pick up the pace afterwards.
The course adapts to your role and to the people you work with.
Process supplier invoices, chase a payment, and explain an entry to a foreign colleague.
Advise an English-speaking client, explain their filing obligations, and present year-end accounts.
Send a reporting pack to the group, comment on variances, and prepare a consolidation.
Run an audit meeting, request supporting documents, and present findings and recommendations.
The CEFR measures language level in 6 steps, from A1 to C2. Here are benchmarks by role, with the TOEIC Listening & Reading score that matches each level according to ETS.
| Role | Recommended CEFR level | TOEIC score (out of 990) |
|---|---|---|
| Accounts payable or receivable clerk | A2 to B1 | 225 to 550 |
| Staff accountant, bookkeeper | B1 | From 550 |
| Accountant in an international group, controller | B2 | From 785 |
| Head of accounting, auditor, CFO | B2 to C1 | 785 to 945 |
B2 is a common requirement for accounting roles in international groups. The TOEIC does not measure C2.
Your teacher builds each class around your role. Every situation is practiced in role-play, out loud and in writing.
Describe your job, how the accounting team works, and how you work with purchasing, management, and audit.
Explain an invoice, a bank reconciliation, an accrual, or depreciation to an English-speaking colleague.
Post adjusting entries, close the books with a foreign group, and explain variances.
Read a balance sheet and an income statement in English and explain year-on-year changes.
Answer an auditor’s questions, justify a treatment, and ask for clarification.
Describe your experience with the right accounting terms and prepare for an interview in English.

I've had a wonderful experience learning English at this school! The program is well-structured, engaging, and truly helps you improve naturally and confidently. All the teachers are highly professional and supportive, always creating a welcoming and motivating atmosphere. I want to give special thanks to Gabu Ithier – she is an outstanding teacher! Her energy, patience, and ability to explain even the most complex things in a clear and fun way made every class a joy. I’m incredibly grateful for the progress I’ve made with her help. Thank you to the entire team – I’m so glad I chose this school!
Break Into English offers excellent one-on-one online lessons with skilled native-speaking teachers who tailor each session to your needs. Their professional approach make learning both effective and enjoyable. I highly recommend them to anyone looking to improve their English confidently and efficiently.

All the teachers I've worked with are native speakers, super professional, and really good at adapting lessons to what I need What I love most is how personalized everything feels, it's not just a generic course. The classes are structured but flexible, and I can see real progress in my speaking and confidence. Highly recommend it to anyone who wants serious, high quality English lessons with great teachers
This has been the best experience I’ve ever had — I truly enjoy every lesson with Kirstyn, and we’ve been having them for the past two years already (Wow!)!
